My Love Song

I used to sing about birds and butterfly
And how an angel makes me cry
I used to write simple lyrics of love
And make them rhyme with the skies above

It used to make me happy and smile
Even without fancy words and style
It used to be just you and me
And now it's just me me and me

So I wish to write a simple song
Of love that will never go wrong
With simple melody and words
Even just a few minor chords

I write this song only for me
To make me happy as I can be
I know this all sounds so sad
But really it's not all that bad

I may not be as happy as before
It may not be the sound people adore
But at least I know one thing is for sure
This song was for me and it will be my cure.
