Open Wound

As the leaves begin to fall
The tears they will too
You'll never be able to fit in
And they'll change if you do
You're lost in this world
You were so cocky and untight
Now you're staying up
Because you can't sleep through the night
The cold bites and you can't feel your face
The memories remain
But the future you can't face
You feel left out
And you don't turn out the lights
In the darkness of the night
Afraid of more painful fights
You against your wall
Now you can't stand tall
You try and get a grip
Before you start to slip
And to everyone you know
You just let your feelings go
Scared by the change
They can't rearrange
They can't accept you now
For the person you are today
But you're no different than yesterday
You just told them what you felt
Things they don't want to hear
Trapped in by fear
You just want to be normal
You just want to be sane
You just want to live your life
Day by day once again
You want to grab a hold
Of something you've been missing
You need to heal all of these open wounds
That for a while now, you have been mending
