Goddess on her Knees

She's a goddess on her knees
not satisfied until he's pleased
begging for him to love her back
but appreciation's what he lacks
he just doesn't seem to care
especially when she needs him there

she's a goddess on her knees
and every time that she concedes
he takes control of her this way
because her love will make her stay
everyday for her's the same
putting up with his mind games
never lets her show him how
she has loved him then til now
he lifts her up and brings her down
god it hurts to see her frown
I try to tell her she doesn't deserve this treatment
but love is blind and she can't see it
because

She's a goddess on her knees

but appreciation's what he lacks
he just doesn't seem to care
especially when she needs him there

no matter how hard she tries
he just makes her cry on the inside
more and more each time
her every word is a land mine
waiting for him to step on and unleash
his anger on her like an uncaged beast
attacking its master
she tries to tell him but it's always a disaster
and every time it starts to show
she thinks "It's ok because he loves me, that I know"
but

It seems that what she needs
is being replaced with all his greed
because in looking in his mind
all that you can find
is that he matters to himself
there can be nothing else
but she still tries to fight
for him each and every night
always to no avail
and she knows that she will fail
blind persistence leads the way
until each and everyday
becomes a day of misery
every time she says "But he still loves me"
because

especially when she needs him there

she always needs him there
he just doesn't care
he shows no appreciation
nothing but agitation
he's not pleased
she's on her knees
begging him to love her
he thinks that he's above her
it's time to go
time to let him know
he's wrong, you're right
end this tonight
it's over
it's over
it's over
IT'S OVER

She's a goddess on her feet
realizes she has to leave
lifts this burden off her back
so as she begins to pack
she now sees he won't be there
but this time it's she who won't care

he never really loved her, he'd only pretend
he used her to make him look good in front of his friends
but she's through with being walked on
this misery is all gone
she's done with his games
through with living in shame
she figured out again how to love herself
now she can give her love to somebody else
because

She's a goddess on her feet
realizes she has to leave
she doesn't need him anymore
so she walks right out the door
she'll find some one who cares
somebody who will always be there
