Shimmering Blue

written by: Majestic

There is a hole
creating a gap
that was once a stable body.
Windows shatter into tiny fragments
that once blocked the danger from the sea.
This ships going down
far to the ocean's floor.
Fish swim silently,
stealthy
as I gasp for breathe.
I look up to see lines of blue light.
So beautiful it shimmers in the water.
(So bright, so close I can nearly reach).
My fingers stretch to touch it lightly
and I am on shore.
I gasp and cough
as water is heaved from me
and I am saved.
