Ink

Somewhere in between dreaming and reality
Trying to figure out what all these thoughts mean to me
The happiness and the rage
All spill out as the ink slowly drips on the page
Something to keep as a lasting momento
I'll leave them behind and forget them though
Forget how I felt
Forget the tears that I cried
Forget all the fucking times I tried and tried
But I couldn't get it right
All the times with the pen and the pad at night
With the thoughts in my head
The pain and the dread
The anxiety and the breakdowns
The smiles and the fake frowns
Nothing is wrong
Everything's all right
I don't need you anymore
I don't need this fight
I don't need this anguish
This bitter defeat
Moving away like a great armies retreat
Still with the feelings I hold inside
Far too great to hide
So I just leave them all behind
