life is a chalkboard

written by: jdesiree

You stole a piece of my flesh
A piece I would not know was missing if I didn't see you take it

Love is a button floating in a puddle polluted by the oil that leaked from his engine
Gone is the fire that never burned
It was never going to burn

Let him know it was not of him
It was the panic of another one leaving without saying I would be missed
He does not know his rejection feels like a rope strangling me for air

The panic is not of him
It's of another one not letting me speak

I wish you hugged me before you left
Let me know everything was fine before you left
Tell me that you just need to go home, the place in your heart
You liked my visit
Now the visit is over
I changed the temperature of your home
You like it a bit chilly

Tell me to go home, in my heart
Where I would be happy
You don't belong because you changed the temperature
Made it too warm I like it a bit chilly

I know your birds they spoke to my creatures
They said you had a secret about me that I was keeping from myself
Your birds told my creatures
You would break the secret code
Then I would not longer need you
Your birds spoke to my creatures
They said we shall met one day
That day shall only last a day

Your birds drew blood from my calf and flew away
My creatures said it's the only way I would learn to speak my mind
Your birds flew away I do not miss them
They have their own life I have mine
