A Firstmate's Account (Excerpt)

My mind wanders to the coast, beyond the horizon. For what nameless wharf holds a moment for this vessel of misfortune? A hull, sure and strong, that quells the buffeting surge of storms with tremulous fervor; a mast shorn asunder by memorial tension. I suspect my berth dwells in the listless refuge of forfeited love and parched sentiment.

Adrift, I await the Siren's song to guide me toward native shores. To the bosom of comfort and jubilee I call, her arms.
