Crescent City Connection - A Screenplay

(The following is a synopsis of the screenplay "Crescent City Connection" by Adam Jacob)

They skyline of the city of New Orleans is marked by the bridge known as the Crescent City Connection. Under the bridge is the New Orleans convention center. One day in mid winter at the annual Defense Contractors Convention, a militia group hijacks a titanium laser capable of incinerating a building from five miles away. After killing many of the hot headed conventioneers the band of militants, lead by the luscious and sexy Veronica, hold many survivors hostage.

Captain Frank Melancon calls on aid from the FBI and from his best officer, Lt. Jared Touscant. Touscant is reluctant to leave his bed but agrees for his friend Frank. Touscant makes his way to the convention center as Special Agents Steve Hodges and Robert Jennings arrive at the scene confronting the impeding Agent Dan Simpson of US Customs.

Melancon sends in the SWAT team and they are all murdered. Hodges reveals that the leader, Veronica, is a bounty hunter who works for the highest bidder. He is confused by her presence in this high profile heist. Veronica only deals with Hodges as they are old adversaries and she knows he will not jerk her around. She demands millions and a helicopter. Hodges stalls as long as he can.

The situation worsens as the media arrives, causing Veronica to retaliate. Her sniper kills Jennings and wounds Captain Melancon. They use the laser to blow up the local media radio and TV stations downtown by the superdome.

Why do Hodges and Touscant distrust Agent Simpson?

Why does Veronica put her exceptional illusive career at risk?

Who is the mysterious sniper?

Now it is up to Lt. Touscant and Special Agent Hodges to rescue the hostages, stop Veronica and solve the mysterious case of murder, hijacking, and kidnapping at the Crescent City Connection.
