Today our children do not fear the bearded trenchcoated man. They fear their own, they fear themselves. Their lives are so consumed by stress that death is more appealing than life. Today suicide is the second leading cause of death in the teenage community. We need to continue funding scientific endevors to improove psychological healthcare for children. Children feel neglected. The most important time of their life is the modling of who they will become. I cannot stress enough how necessary it is for for children to have a peaceful environment to grow up in. How will we do that? I will tell you. We need to increase the police force nation wide in effort to lower crimes that affect kids, not only rape and molestation, but also to enforce and revitalize the war on drugs. There needs to be an increase in school security nationwide to prevent similar instances of the actions at columbine highschool. We need stiffer penalties for child abuse in order ot protect children from dangerous parents and predators. WE need to revive the communities of america. Everyone should help out with the neighborhood watch, people should volunteer at their local YMCA, youth group or boys and girls club. With such a high divorce rate children need good men and women to look up to. The third largest casue of death in the teenage category is homicide. We need tighter gun regulations, longer waiting periods, reinforced background checks, internal safeties on every gun sold in this country, and lastly we need to crack down on the illegal sale of arms in this country. We also need to enforce have tougher penalties for minors in the posession of a gun. At the top of the lists for teenage deaths are accidents. Teens and adults need to do jail time for drinking and driving. Not just a suspended license, they need to feel the inside of a cell or perhaps they need to be placed in a rehabilitation center. One way or another we have to stop drunk driving. Again i cannot express how important it is for america to return to it's communities and start educating and mentoring the youth.
