The Definition of Insanity



The dictionaries describe it as "extreme foolishness," but to me it is much more. It is putting your all into something after receiving the same results time after time, like wanting a relationship to last even though you know the chances grow slimmer with every failed attempt. Insanity is the woman who blames herself after her man puts his hands on her. Or the widow who would have much rather died alongside her husband, than to live one day without him. What else can make the strongest of minds contemplate their suicide, and destroy the confidence of the most beautiful girls, until they forget their own worth? LOVE is the only explanation. Love is like the water in a water bottle, once it fills your heart the more one takes away, the more one must replace to escape that feeling of emptiness. Once the love is gone it makes you feel incomplete or useless like a bottle that contains no fluids. Insanity is caused by the loss of love, and the need to replace it. It is the endless pain that feels your heart, as the love is slowly drained from your soul, or the rage that boils in your veins causing you to think irrationally. Mentally ill people do things because they truly don't know any better, but heart broken people know what they are doing they just don't care anymore, because nothing can be worse than the feeling of Lost Love or "Insanity."
